Find LPG stations and compare prices

Published Reviewed

In Italy, LPG is labelled GPL. Select it explicitly, compare the reported price and service type, and check that your chosen station can actually provide the fuel when you plan to arrive.

Compare stations in the app

Look for GPL, the Italian name for LPG

Italian fuel signs use GPL for liquefied petroleum gas, known as LPG in English. It is a different fuel from metano, which refers to methane-based vehicle fuels. Selecting a general fuel station without checking its fuel list is not enough when you specifically need LPG.

For LPG, compare prices in euros per litre. Keep the fuel and service type consistent across stations. A petrol price at the same site tells you nothing about the cost of filling an LPG tank, and the presence of a reported LPG price does not confirm that the dispenser is operating at your arrival time.

Put a workable stop before a tiny price difference

For a gas-fuelled vehicle, a useful search produces both a preferred stop and a sensible alternative. Check where the stations sit relative to your actual journey, rather than choosing by map distance alone. A station on the opposite side of a road or beyond your intended turn may involve extra driving.

Check opening arrangements and dispensing availability with the station when those details matter to your journey. PienoGo provides discovery and reported prices; it does not reserve fuel or confirm that a dispenser is currently available. If you are unfamiliar with your vehicle’s filling connection or procedure, confirm the requirements using its documentation and the station before relying on that stop.

Find LPG with PienoGo

  1. Open the app, use your location or enter the area where you expect to refuel.
  2. Choose LPG/GPL in Filters and set a suitable Search radius. Confirm that a selected vehicle has not left a different fuel active.
  3. Open station details to check that LPG is actually listed. Read the price, service type and last update together.
  4. Compare an alternative station before opening Directions to your preferred stop.
  5. For a longer drive, use Plan a trip with your start, destination and planned stops to inspect stations along the route.

These discovery steps work without an account. An account is needed if you want to save stations as favourites for later. PienoGo imports MIMIT data daily, while individual station reports can be older.

Common questions

Are GPL and metano interchangeable?

No. They refer to different fuels. Choose the one specified for your vehicle; a low metano price is not an LPG alternative.

Does a price on the map mean LPG is available now?

No. It means a price is present in the imported data. It does not establish current opening hours, fuel supply or dispenser operation.

What should I do if no LPG stations appear?

Check the map area, fuel selection, radius and any brand or freshness filters. Widen the search deliberately and assess whether the resulting stops fit your remaining range and journey.
