Find cheap petrol near you in Italy

Published Reviewed

Choose petrol, search around your location or an address, then compare the same fuel and service type. Check the station’s reporting date and the journey before choosing the lowest displayed price.

Compare stations in the app

Start with the right petrol price

In Italy, benzina means petrol; gasolio means diesel. Before comparing stations, check which fuel your vehicle requires. A low number for a different fuel or an incompatible petrol grade is not a useful alternative.

Service type also changes the comparison. Self means you fill the vehicle yourself. Servito means attended service, which can have a different price at the same station. Read the relevant price row rather than treating the station’s cheapest number as the price of every pump.

PienoGo’s map helps you shortlist options. Green, amber and red markers describe relative prices among the results, while the number gives the actual comparison. Green does not promise the lowest petrol price anywhere in Italy.

Search nearby without an account

  1. Open PienoGo and use your location, or search for an address. Check the map centre: a fallback location is not necessarily where you are.
  2. Open Filters, choose petrol and set a useful Search radius. A selected vehicle may already supply the fuel choice.
  3. Compare a few stations. Brand filters can narrow the list, but may hide an otherwise useful option.
  4. Open a station to inspect its petrol prices, service types, last update and price history.
  5. Use Directions when you have chosen a suitable stop. Your navigation app handles the journey.

For a quicker shortlist, use Refuel, choose petrol or your vehicle, and optionally enter an amount to see estimated total savings. A small price difference matters more for a large fill than for a small top-up. Allow for the extra drive when deciding whether to pursue it.

Read freshness before setting off

PienoGo imports official MIMIT data daily. That import is separate from the date a station last reported its price; it does not make every price a same-day report. The Updated today filter can narrow results, while also reducing the number of stations shown. Confirm the displayed price at the pump before filling.

Common questions

Can I search near a hotel rather than my current location?

Yes. Search its address, then check the surrounding map and your filters. This is useful before returning a hire car or leaving for the next part of a trip.

Do I need to register to compare petrol prices?

No. Nearby discovery and filters work for guests. An account adds features such as saved favourites and optional price-change emails.

Why is the cheapest station not always the best stop?

It may require a longer drive, a difficult approach or a different service type. Compare the likely saving on your intended quantity with the time and fuel needed to reach it.
