Compare gasolio with gasolio
Gasolio is the Italian term for diesel. Benzina is petrol. If you are driving an unfamiliar hire car, establish the required fuel from the vehicle’s information before searching or choosing a pump. A station may list several diesel products; compare the product your vehicle can use rather than assuming every diesel-labelled price is interchangeable.
Then match the service type. Self is self-service; servito is attended service. A headline price at a station can belong to a different service option from the one you intend to use. PienoGo’s station detail shows the reported price rows so you can make a like-for-like comparison.
Decide how much a lower price is worth
The quantity you need changes the decision. In a hypothetical comparison, assume two suitable diesel stations charge €1.80/litre and €1.86/litre. For 50 litres, the price difference is 50 × €0.06 = €3.00 before any extra driving cost. For 10 litres, it is €0.60. These are illustrative prices, not current quotes.
A station already on your route may therefore be a better choice than a slightly cheaper one across town. Consider the approach and return journey as well as the distance shown on the map. For a longer journey, compare stations along the route before committing to a nearby detour.
Build a useful shortlist in PienoGo
- Use your location or search an address near your next planned stop.
- In Filters, select diesel and a suitable Search radius. Check whether a selected vehicle is controlling the fuel choice.
- Open two or three station details and compare the relevant diesel and service rows.
- Check the last update and price history. Use Refuel with an optional amount if you want a comparison based on your intended fill.
- Choose the practical option and open Directions.
Guest discovery does not require registration. Prices come from MIMIT data imported daily; the station’s reporting date remains important, and the pump price should be checked on arrival.
Common questions
Does “diesel” on a roadside sign always mean the cheapest diesel product?
Do not assume it does. Read the product and service labels on the price board and at the pump, then compare them with the row you used in the app.
Why do I see fewer stations after choosing Updated today?
That filter narrows results to prices marked as updated today. A daily app import does not mean every station has a new report that day.
Can I use the same search for a journey tomorrow?
You can research the area, but repeat the comparison before travelling. A saved plan or today’s displayed price is not a reservation or a guaranteed future price.
